COSTUME INSTITUE GALA'S SECRET GUEST LIST REVEALED:
check out www.fashionweekdaily.com's guest list report. juicy details include....
things are getting economy-chic as TopShop purchases a table while Fendi and Celine will not actively participate under LVMH. Guests will also dine on poulet...aka chicken.
Pete Nordstrom purchases a table and selects Jason Wu and Alexander Wang as his designers of note.
Event Host Marc Jacobs' fiance Lorenzo Martone gets to "semi-host" with a table of his own. This surprisingly doesnt anger the actual co-host, Kate Moss, who will of course be wearing Marc Jacobs.
The Jacobs duo wont be the only couple in attendance. Halle Berry and her beau are both being dressed by Calvin Klein.

GRACE JONES PERFORMS AT MATTHEW WILLLIAMSON FOR H+M EVENT
seems perfectly appropriate for the designer, whose brightly printed dresses are like second skin to starlets and party hoppers everywhere. Who better to rock out the event than the oldest queen of disco and style icon extraordinaire.
Not only did she look better than ever, after 30 years of performing, but the booking was a stroke of marketing genius. Ms. Jones and Williamson will continue to make amazing fashion statements for years to come.

OMG
Maison Martin Margiela will soon launch a homewares line, inspired by an all-white design project at an apartment overlooking the Eiffel Tower. The abode will soon serve as a gallery-type institution, displaying artwork by emerging artists. Depending on the success of these ventures, our favorite progressive fashion house will further explore hotel and in-home interior decoration...and Phillippe Starck will start shopping his resume on craigslist...just sayin'...

THE LATEST LAGERFELDISMS
valuable advice from the kaiser himself to mini-model Sigrid Agred courtesy of Interview Magazine...we can't get enough:
Agren: Okay. How do you look when you wake up?
Lagerfeld: It's not being perfect. What one needs is a face that people can identify in a second. That’s why the girls who were famous in the ‘90s can still work for advertising. People know their faces. The little blonde Russian, Sasha (Pivovarava), has a face people can remember instantly, but for other models today, people think, Is she this one or that one? It’s very difficult, but, you see, in fact there is no advice, because all circumstances are very different. It depends on what you are ready to give, the kind of life you bring, what may be exciting or disappointing … You can’t accuse anyone of not doing enough to help you, because, besides yourself, there’s nothing anyone can do. You have to be given what’s needed by nature, and what’s needed is to bring something new. But it’s the most … (hits hand on table) unjust … (hits hand on table) thing in the world.

Agren: Okay. How do you look when you wake up?
Lagerfeld: That’s why I sleep alone. My hair is curly, and that’s why I have my ponytail. I look like a madman, like something out of a horror movie! But I'm very impeccable and clean before I go to bed. It’s just like right before I’m going out. When I was a child, my mother always told me that you could wake up in the middle of the night and be deathly sick, so you always have to be impeccable. I laugh about it now, but I think everyone should go to bed like they have a date at the door.

"I don't have a stylist, so it's usually a last-minute rush for to get ready.... It takes me about five minutes to dress, but then I sat around for an hour, trying on lipsticks. I went with the red--which is new for me--and put tissues in my shoes because they are too big. It's all part of the chic panic!"
